So what’s this all about?
I started this project after some internet wierdie folk told me about it. Lists, colours, what’s not to like? You can find out more about the day zero project for yourself here www.dayzeroproject.com.
The Challenge: is complete 101 preset tasks in 1001 days.
The Criteria: tasks must be specific (i.e. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (i.e. represent some amount of work on my part)
Why 1001 days? Many people have created lists in the past – often simple goals such as New year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination ( and we all love a bit of that, don’t we?) is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 days (about 2.75years) is a better period of time than a year because it allows you several seasons to complete tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks like overseas trips or outdoor activities.
I started mine on the 1 October 2009 or as the Americans would say 10-01 (see what I did there?) and I’m due to complete on 28 June 2012
